Since 2005, Carly has practised as an advocate and advisor in the area of employment and industrial law, acting mostly for employers.

Carly has previously worked for a large multidisciplinary law firm in its workplace law team, a boutique workplace law firm and an employer association.

Carly has provided advice and representation to employers and senior executives in a wide range of industries including road transport, stevedoring, security, hospitality, information technology, banking, finance and insurance.

Some of the matters that Carly has recently been involved in include:

  • representing a large national transport employer in a dispute brought by the union before the NSW Industrial Relations Commission regarding the application of its national drug and alcohol policy;
  • applying to Fair Work Australia for orders to stop nationwide industrial action in a client’s business;
  • filing an application with the Supreme Court of New South Wales on behalf of a multi-national employer in the document management industry to prevent a sales executive from breaching post employment restraint provisions in the executive’s contract of employment;
  • acting on behalf of an employee in proceedings before Fair Work Australia and the Federal Court in relation to an adverse action claim by the employee;
  • appearing before the New South Wales Industrial Relations Commission for a large Australian employer in relation to a union’s application to vary a contract determination; and
  • appearing before the Full Bench of the former Australian Industrial Relations Commission on behalf of a New South Wales peak employer association and a large Australian security employer in relation to the award modernisation process.

Carly presents seminars and training to employers and employees on unlawful discrimination, harassment and workplace bullying.

Carly holds separate Bachelor degrees in Business and Law.
